Adrian Rose Lestrange __________________________________________________________ Stomach growling, Adrian clutched his stomach, falling back onto the table he had been lounging on. "Food! Come to me!" He moaned in despair, and to his suprise it began popping up all around him. In shock, the boy leapt from his place on the polished wooden table; in time to avoid a goblet appearing where his head would be. "Dodged a bullet there…" He mumbled to himself before seating himself in front of the feast. Chicken with a red wine glaze, fresh rolls, apple cider, hot chocolate, sweet potatoes, pineapples, and many different varieties of nuts decorated the table. There was no way all this food would be consumed by the few Hufflepuff students that decided to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas. His eyes grew larger as each dish began to fill to maximum capacity at every table. The house elves certainly had out done themselves this time. With hungry eyes, Adrian seated himself, picking up the plate of sweet potatoes the boy grabbed the biggest yam on the platter. "If I don’t eat it, no one else will!” The boy told himself, as he began to sprinkle sugar cinnamon on it carelessly. Yum, his favorite food, and they were serving it today. He turned quickly to Izzy and waved, pointing excitedly at his plate. Now that he had the large yam, it was very unlikely that he would eat anything other than the candy apple he was sure would come for dessert. As Adrian turned back around, his eyes caught on Emma. She looked so adorable in her winter clothes, it made him feel like he should be wearing a jacket as well. Shrugging he gave her a slight wave and dug his fork into the steaming sweet potato. One bite sent the boy to pure bliss, there was nothing better than a warm sweet potato after decorating a large room. His eyes darted back to Emma. "Sorry about that… But Tori woke me up really early and I didn’t want to wake you.” He assured her, hoping that it hadn’t made her mad. After tossing his fork down, he opened his arms for a hug. Truth be told, the hall had gotten quite chilly with the opening of the main doors for students and she looked extremely warm. Israel Armagedon Lestrange._____________________________________________________________The boy took a sip from a golden goblet. Pumpkin juice soon rushed in the fill his empty mouth with a sweet taste.”Tori’s pretty loyal to me and Adrian.. Even though she has no reason to be, and I’m sure you have loyalties to certain people. It’s in a human’s nature to make ties that they are unwilling to break with others.” Certainly the boy’s rambling was coming out as foolish, though he hoped that it seemed rather intelligent at the time. After all, to Israel, Ravenclaws were known as the intelligent ones… And he was far from that. Shaking his hair from his face the boy allowed himself to shrug. ”You Ravenclaws are quite interesting, ya know?” With that, the boy stuck out his tongue and took another swig of the juice. He remembered the first time he had tried pumpkin juice, how he had thought it was the most awful thing in existance. Somehow, over the years he had become fond of the sickly sweet juice, it was so far from the taste one normally associates with pumpkins.
Once more, Israel shrugged. Yes, it was true, his excuse was pretty silly but he hated to mention drama in his family. It soiled their name and he knew what they thought of that sort of thing. ”Shopping sounds great, I saw this really cute jacket when I was in Hogsmead in September. It looks so warm, we should go! I wanna get you a Christmas present too! Y’know, as sort of a…” Nice cover, now how to end it? ”Thank you gift?” That was a horrible cover, forget about trying to sound cool. He quickly dismissed the thought and grew excited and let out a frantic plan of what they should do when they got to Hogsmead. This included the candy shop, joke shop, pet shop, and anything else the two may want to visit while there. Grinning like a child, Izzy clasped his hands together and beamed in the direction of Dorian. The trip would be fun, and maybe they would find something interesting to do; at least, more interesting than what the average Hogwarts student would be doing in Hogsmead.
The boys gaze quickly shifted from the other male to the food now beginning to form on the platters that had recently been placed in the hall by house elves. Steaming vegetables greeted his sights and made his mouth water. Though it was natural for the boy to go straight for the meat, he found himself reaching for the fresh green beans. ”You should really try these, I swear they get better every year.” What great small talk, green beans, there had to be a better subject? Israel watched as the other boy made movements signifying that he didn’t want someone to know. Izzy leaned in, straining to hear what Dorian had to say over the usual chatter in the Great Hall. Tori, Daft? That was possible, and she had dated Malfoy which was pretty stupid. ”What bugged me as that he made her think he loved her too. I mean, sure toy with her all you want, she’s a strong girl, but to fool her into love… She was kinda dumb to start dating him though.” With his last comment Izzy’s face dropped a little bit. Why hadn’t he kept her from dating that rotten Malfoy. The only girl he could ever be serious about was one of those cruel, yet beautiful, girls in their house.
Lost in thought, the boy didn’t even realize that Dorian had asked to sit with him. He stared at the plate, thinking about relationships that had gone wrong and the few that had gone right. Even if he hadn’t experienced many, his friends had felt their share of heartbreaks. Why was it so hard to be happy with someone. Even if they didn’t work out as significant others, why had they decided not to be friends any more. Izzy shook his head, returning to thought as Dorian was taking off his jacket. ”Slower slower, it’s too nice a job to rush.” He quoted in a cheesy manner. Oh RHPS, why are you such a quotable movie? He thought to himself before turning to the current conversation. His eyes wandered up and down Dorian’s body, he looked good in tight clothes.. Those stupid winter things kept Israel from seeing it until now. He glanced over the the Ravenclaw table, no one interesting seemed to be sitting there yet ”So you should sit with me. Yep, it’s decided.” His eyes stopped on the necklace. My, it was beautiful and it confused the boy a little, causing him to open his trap with a question. ”What’s that?” He wondered out loud, knowing it was probably rude to be asking such a thing. Waiting for a reply, his mind went straight to being bundled up in one of Dorian’s jackets as they strolled through Hogsmead. He didn’t note the variation in size between the two in this fantasy, though he did imagine that he was much less scrawny than he actually was. _____________________________________________________________[[in that final look does the deer forgive the wolf?]]

Oh, she had brilliant timing. The food was appearing on the tables as she’d headed towards Adrian and by the time she’d taken a seat beside him, the platters were full of rolls, potatoes, chicken, fruits, etcetera, etcetera. She could appreciate that. Reaching for a pitcher of hot chocolate, Emmaline poured herself a goblet-full and then tried to decide what she’d eat first. The chicken was always so yummy but then again, she really just wanted some buttered rolls. Taking a sip of her hot cocoa, Emmaline rotated slightly to listen to Adrian as he spoke. She understand how close Tori and Adrian were so she really didn’t mind. Besides, she didn’t want to know how early ‘really early’ was. Emmaline definitely appreciated the few days she was able to sleep in. Grabbing a fresh roll, she went about buttering it and then adding strawberry jelly. It was all warm and delicious and she was reminded of how much she loved Hogwarts.
“It’s alright. I suppose I shouldn’t complain about being able to sleep in,” she laughed, taking another sip of her drink. It was perfect, sweet enough with plenty of mini marshmallows. What else did she want to eat? Go figure, she was craving french toast but she’d missed breakfast. She kind of wanted a nice and simple grilled cheese sandwich which was not out here. So, for the time being, she’d just grab some glazed chicken. Just as she’d moved a piece to her plate, she caught out of the corner of her eye, Adrian facing her with his arms open. For a hug. Awwww~! Emmaline giggled and set her silverware down, turning in her seat. She wrapped her arms around him, burying her face into his shirt. He must be cold, she was now realizing, as his shirt seemed to be lacking sleeves. “You should be wearing a jacket, dear,” she told him, her voice muffled from the hug. She was always so protective and worrisome over her housemates and close friends, it was almost annoying at times.

Adrian Rose Lestrange __________________________________________________________The embrace of the other was warm, and her scent far from annoying. He gave her a friendly squeeze before turning back to his plate. ”Did you sleep well, Emma?” He asked before taking another sip of his pumpkin juice. The sweet taste raced down his throat into his stomach. Were they allowed to drink the sweet juice every day the boy would certainly not be as thin as he was now. He grimaced at the realization of how much he had already consumed. Well, that was a waste of a week’s diet. He mumbled something along the lines of, I wish I had better self control, and took another sip of the juice. His hand shook with his anger towards himself, causing a small drop to slip from the top of the goblet .Adrian’s eyes widened in horror as it made its way towards the oak table. ”Sorry, I spilled a lil.” He muttered, as he took the yellow napkin and began to clean the slight mess. Though he wasn’t a neat freak, he hated dirtying things up for the house elves to later have to clean. At the mention of a jacket the boy shrugged lazily. Sure, a jacket would be nice, but he knew that decorating would cause him to sweat and get hot. He turned his attention back to Emma, she always was dressed well, regardless of the cold. A small smile played on his lips as he nodded, "I know, I know, but then I'd have to just take it off. You have no idea how hot it gets in here when people aren't opening the doors constantly. Adrian took another bite off of his plate and followed it with some pumpkin juice before setting his fork and knife down. Though he had only had a quarter of the full plate, the boy was already full. He would later end up picking at the plate out of hunger, the aromas and tastes were just too much to resist. Emmaline loved hugs and she adored Adrian so this worked out well. Hugs were the best, though. Why didn’t everybody hug as greetings all the time? Okay, maybe not. That could get bad between Slytherins and Gryffindors. After he’d pulled away, she turned back to her plate and her stomach growled. Evidently, the roll just wasn’t enough. She began to cut up the chicken into smaller pieces and she ate slowly, pacing herself. Her mother had always told her that you shouldn’t rush while you’re eating. Emmaline paused and took a sip of hot cocoa before answering. “I did, actually.” She thought about the night. She could vaguely remember a dream about being lost in the Forbidden Forest. It’d been scary… which actually made it a nightmare. “I woke up in the middle of the night from a bad dream,” she added with a shrug. “How about you?”
Emmaline wished there was a back to these benches because she wanted to lean back but then that was uncomfortable. It just didn’t work out very well. She felt like her thoughts weren’t making sense and was glad for the two words that distracted her. Self-control? Emmaline looked at Adrian with a concerned expression and she could see his hands shaking when the drink spilled from his goblet. Emmaline shook her head and took another sip of her hot chocolate. “It’s fine,” she mumbled before taking another bite of her lunch, suddenly self-conscious about her appearance. Oh, that wasn’t good. Why did Adrian seem so upset all of a sudden? Did she want to say something? Maybe not. Okay, not yet. No reason to spoil the day.
Emmaline nodded, understanding. She reached for an apple and took a bite, looking around the Great Hall. “It looks lovely so far,” she commented, a bit in awe at the beauty of the room. Christmas was always lovely. It was gorgeous, yummy, fun, smelled good, heart-warming. Winter was nice because it had Christmas. “I get that. It’s too bad they aren’t more careful about that. Then again, it would get cold if the doors were open to long…” Emmaline let her sentence trail off, feeling as if she weren’t making sense. “Yeah, nevermind,” she said with a sheepish laugh, pulling her free hand through her hair.
