["Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?"]Annalise Lefoux walked through the hallways of Hogwarts with a smile on her face. She had just come from the library where she had spent a great portion of the day among the dusty volumes of forgotten and disheveled work. There had been times when she had pulled a book down that had almost crumbled to dust in her grasp, but she had loved it. She had to do something to take her focus off of the men around her. It seemed that everytime she let her guard down, some new and exciting man would walk past and she would instantly die to know about them. She had been neglecting her studies and she simply could not allow that! So, it was with determination and purpose that she had set off at the crack of dawn to the library where she had stayed until well after noon. It wasn't until the librarian had come around, demanding to know what she was up to, that she decided to leave. She hadn't known what to do with her afternoon then. She had finished her work that would be due when term started again and she wasn't hungry. She had debated on going down to the Quidditch pitch to see who was there, but decided not to. She finally decided just to go back up to the Ravenclaw Common Room and see if anyone was around that she could talk to. She was a generally social girl so it was never hard for her to make conversation. Besides, there were some very cute Ravenclaw boys that she wouldn't mind getting to know better. However, when she arrived in the Common Room, it was to find it empty. She sighed and sat down in a very comfortable arm chair. She swung her legs over the left arm of the chair and let her head rest on the right. Now, all she had to do was wait, but being the impatient person she was, that was much easier said than done. Caius left the library roughly around the same time as Anna but he went to the owlery. He put the scroll on his owls leg and brought her to the window. "The dark lord." He muttered and she flapped her brown wings and flew out of the window. Caius watched until her small shape disappeared. He turned on his heel and exited, the castle was empty as he made his way to the Ravenclaw Common room. He stopped at the door and the the beak spoke. "Where do vanished object go? Caius thought for a second then spoke. "They dissapear into nothing, which is to say everything. He said and the door swung open. Caius walked in and looked about he say Anna sitting and walked toward her sitting across from her. How are you? He asked her blinking slightly and pulling his legs up to his chest.
Caius brought his legs down and pulled out his drawing pad. Caius flipped to his dark mark picture and started to draw in the snake. Caius shaded in his snake and looked up at the Ravenclaw across from him. He pushed a hand through his brownish hair and looked down at the drawing. He put it up so no one would see the mark in his book.

Hailey absolutely loved baths. Sure, showers had their conveniences (less time spent, more focus on the hair) but baths were just so... so relaxing. That’s why Hailey made it a regular thing to take a nice, long bath at least once a week. She was glad for the holiday season. It meant there were less girls to take over the bathroom, worrying about their hair and makeup. It meant that she could enjoy her bubble bath in silence. Hailey slid further down into the water and exhaled a long breath. "Oh, how I love baths."
Hailey’s eyes opened, slowly, and she blinked a few times, confused. Where was she? She sat up and was surprised at the sloshing of the water. Wha... Oh! Hailey laughed softly. It wasn’t the first time she’d fallen asleep during one of her bubble baths. She drained the now cold water and grabbed her towel, and headed into the dorm room, pondering on what she could wear. It’s not like she had much to do now. Glancing at the clock, she realized it was a little after noon. She could go to the library, or perhaps to the Quidditch pitch. It wouldn’t kill her to practice. But it was cold out and, for once in her life, Hailey didn’t feel like being cold. So, she grabbed some clothes from her trunk and pulled them on before donning her bathrobe over those. Hailey tied her wet hair up into a messy sort of bun and headed out of the dorm and down to the common room. It was empty, mostly, except for a brunette that she recognized and the blonde across from her. Of course, though. Hailey knew her housemates.
Hailey headed towards the two and sat in an armchair beside Annalise, her legs curled up beneath her. “Hello, Anna, Caius,” she greeted, giving the two a smile. “You look quite bored,” Hailey said, giving Annalise an amused sort of look. That was understandable though. There wasn’t much to do at Hogwarts during the holidays. Hailey glanced towards Caius in time to see him with a drawing pad that assumingly came out of nowhere. This probably wasn’t it, though. It always rather impressed her, watching others do something they were talented at. Draw, cook, swim, fly, or light up a room by simply walking in. “What’re you drawing?” she asked, hoping it wouldn’t be seen as nosy. She was just curious.

["Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?"]Annalise looked up when Caius Lestrange sat down across from her. She smiled to herself; she had always found him charming and dark and mysterious. He was one of those men who could keep a person awake at night trying to figure them out. He was personable enough, but there was something she couldn't quite place. Something that, given effort on her part, she might one day figure out. She lifted her head and watched him drawing in his sketch book for a moment, vaguely wondering what it was that he was working on so intently. As she laid her head back down and turned her face towards him, she answered; "I'm doing well, Caius. How are you? Can I see what you are working on?" she asked, her curiosity getting the best of her. She let her thoughts wander for a moment, but a moment only as she heard another voice speak quite nearby. It was Hailey Longbottom, another personable Ravenclaw whom Anna had always found very friendly. She sat up in her chair and gave Hailey a warm, friendly smile. "Hello Hailey! Yes, it's a very boring day, but, as they say "This too shall pass" right? Have you been enjoying your break?" she asked, directing the question at both Hailey and Caius in hopes of keeping the conversation going. ["I could really use a wish right now..."]

"I'm doing well, Caius. How are you? Can I see what you are working on?"
[/i]“What’re you drawing?”[/i][/color] Caius looked up as both girls asked him a to see his drawing. Caius flipped the page to one with a picture of a phoenix taking off from a pile of ashes. He stared at the image for a second taking in the wide spread wings, the beak pointing to the sky, and the pile of ashes at the ground all of these where in great detail and flipped the book so they could see. ”You guys may see this one but the other one is, well, personal." He told them and passed the book over to Anna so she could see. He leaned back against the chair and looked up at Hailey and nodded to her as she greeted him. He leaned back and answered Anna’s question about break. ”I’ve been doing okay just waiting around and drawing." Caius said to her and snuggling deeper into his chair. The fire was making him drosey but he didn’t want to fall asleep and them go through his drawing pad. Caius’s eyes drooped but he resisted the urge by sitting up straighter and putting his elbows into his knees. Caius watched as they looked at his picture and told them they could go through them all except for the last one. Caius took the book for a second and ripped out the dark mark, folded it and stuck it in his pocket. It’d caught her off guard, Annalise asking about the drawing as well. Of course, it should’ve seemed quite simple. Curiosity was probably something common among Ravenclaws. Curiosity led to knowledge eventually, right? Hailey grinned and nodded. Annalise was right. “I couldn’t have said it better myself,” she murmured, looking to Caius as he flipped to a new picture before handing the book to Annalise. Was she enjoying her break? Hailey wasn’t exactly sure how to answer the question so she let Caius answer first whilst she thought of her own. It had been nice the first few days. She’d spent most of her time in the Common Room, writing her essays. They always managed to give enough work so you’d be busy during the break, something that would be due once it was over. Hailey had decided to get this over with as soon as possible. So, she had, and after those first few days, she wasn’t sure what to do. There were a couple of times when she’d gone out to the Quidditch pitch for some practice games with some friends who had also stayed behind during the holidays. And, as of late, she’d been trying to find things to do. The library only had so many interesting books and Quidditch was only fun for so long. “In general,” she paused as Annalise passed the sketchbook to her, “I have.”
Hailey noticed that Annalise had flipped back to the Caius had started them at and she stared at it, awestruck. “Wow, you’re---” she stopped mid-sentence as he took the book back for a moment and tore a page out before handing it back to her. “You’re really good,” she finished, continuing to turn the pages, admiring each more than the last. Why couldn’t she be this good at something? Hailey knew quite a few people who could draw or who were an amazing chef or could sing as if it were nothing. Her talent? Finishing school work early, answering to many questions, being a know-it-all. Even if those did count, they’d all count as one and it’d be a little thing called ‘annoying.’ Reaching the last of the drawings, she closed the book and gave it back to Caius. “Those are spectacular,” she told him, a genuine smile gracing her lips. Hailey looked to Annalise and realized that neither her nor Caius had asked the brunette how her break was going. “What about you, Anna?” Hailey asked, “how has your break been?”

["Can we pretend that airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars?"]Anna flipped through the sketchbook and viewed Caius' drawings in something like awe. His work was amazing. She'd seen talented artists before, but never this caliber of artist. The drawing of the Phoenix rising from the ashes and taking flight was so realistic and beautiful that she could imagine she felt the brush of its wings as it ascended, that she could hear it's song like a lullaby, an inner song that no one else could possibly hear. The rest of the drawings were the same, all magnificent and full of beauty that only an artist could put forth. "Wow, Caius! These are fantastic! Really....they're beautiful," she whispered, still staring at the pictures. Finally she handed the sketchbook back, she had barely noticed that he had torn one out. It must have been personal, she decided. She turned her attention to Hailey again. "Oh, my break has been enjoyable enough. At least I haven't had to deal with my dimwitted brother. I've only just finished the assignments we were given before break. Now I have the next few days to just focus on the sights of Hogwarts," she responded, giggling a little when she mentioned the sights. Now that her work was done, she could go be a 'boy scout' and see what different flavors and styles the great school had. Though she had always gone through a long line of boyfriends, Hogwarts was massive and that meant there was always someone new lurking around a corner. The seventh year, though very mature in some aspects, was sometimes as ditzy and silly as any first year girl could ever be. She leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes, letting herself get wrapped up in the light, friendly conversation and the warmth that issued from the fire. It was so comfortable, so peaceful here. Caius smiled as they liked his work "Sure, sure." He muttered and took the book back from Anna. He pulled the page out of his pocket and tapped it, the creases relaxed and he put it to the book. "Reparo." Caius said and the edges of the paper at the top waved and connected with the ripped paper becoming one again. He folded the book and stuffed it into his pocket.
Looking up from the fire Caius heard Anna say, "Oh, my break has been enjoyable enough. At least I haven't had to deal with my dimwitted brother. I've only just finished the assignments we were given before break. Now I have the next few days to just focus on the sights of Hogwarts," He chuckled slightly and sat up. "Finished my work. Guess the quiet places in the castle calls to me." He said his dark eyes looking into the distance.

Hailey grinned. She knew of Anna’s brother and the relationship between the two of them. He was a Hufflepuff in his seventh year and she’d seen him a few times at those Hufflepuff parties. She wondered for a second if there would be another one soon before finding her train of thought. It was good to know that Anna had finished her work. Hailey figured that, later in the holiday, she’d probably start nagging her housemates to get their assignments done. Definitely annoying. It was sometimes a motherly sort of thing, probably, but she found it as obnoxious. Ah, the sights of Hogwarts. Hailey figured Anna probably meant something other than what Hailey was thinking of, simply because of her laughter. She resisted some urge to roll her eyes and leaned back in the chair she was sitting in. “I’m looking forward to Christmas,” she offered, a giddy, child-like happiness rising in her. Christmas was probably her favorite part of Winter time.
Hailey let her side roll to the side and her view of Caius was sideways. “That’s good,” she said. It was nice to know that they’d both finished everything. Perhaps it was just something most Ravenclaws did. Finished their work early, that was. Her eyebrows furrowed together and she looked up to the high ceiling of the common room. Why was she judging and assuming? It wasn’t really like her to do so. Hailey shook the thoughts away and sat up straighter, moving her legs out from under her. She pulled them to her chest and rested her chin on her knees, arms around her legs. “Ah, I feel like flying,” she muttered, letting her eyelids slip close. It didn’t make much sense, the fact that she was tired. She’d taken a nap in the bathtub, after all.

"We should throw an inter-house Christmas Party right here in the dorm! I mean, what better way to celebrate such an exciting holiday than letting boundaries drop for one night and hanging out with the other houses? And if we don't, someone else will! How cool would it be for us to be the ones getting all the attention for throwing such a great party? Besides, we look like we could use some excitement." Caius looked up at Annalise and shrugged. ”When?" He asked, though he really didnt care that much, parties weren't his thing. He was more of a alone type, most Ravenclaws knew that but he knew that Anna would drag him into it.

Hailey opened her eyes and looked to Anna who was now standing. The girl seemed to have energy now, like it had come out of nowhere. She grinned as the Ravenclaw spoke. A party, huh? That would be fun. Even if the Slytherins came. They surely wouldn’t cause any trouble with Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw there, right? And certainly not if the party wasn’t even in their own common room. The Ravenclaws could have a reputation similar to those of the Hufflepuffs. Who said they were the only ones able to throw wicked parties? Hailey sat up a bit straighter and nodded eagerly. “I’m up for it!1464F4” she exclaimed, ideas already forming. “Maybe then all that hatred between Gryffindor and Slytherin won’t be as bad.” Even as she said it, though, Hailey knew that that was far from likely. No amount of partying was going to ease the loathing between the two houses. It would definitely be worth a shot, though. “If we’re going to do this,” she started, trying to keep track of all the ideas that were bouncing back and forth in her head, “we have to start planning now.”
Hailey looked around the Common Room and wasn’t surprised to find a notebook, inkpot, and quill on a table not to far from her. She stood, stretched, and wandered over to it. It made sense that these items would be laying about in the Ravenclaw dorm. She knew a few housemates who just sat down some days to write and she knew them to leave these notebooks laying around. It was really quite convenient. She flipped to a blank page, titled it Inter-house Christmas Party! before looking to Caius and Anna. “Ideas?” she questioned, feeling it would be polite to ask them first. She had a pretty good memory, after all. It’s not like she would forget her own suggestions. She was much to excited for that.
