A cold wind blew in through the store as Kadence King opened the door to Honeydukes and stepped in. Though it was winter and the snow fell like crazy, Kade had never felt a chill and it wasn't because he was wearing a very large old coat. His blood was much to warm to feel the effects. Of course, the cold was the least of his problems right now. He closed the door quickly behind him and shook out the snow that clung to his honey blond hair before he started down the aisles in a sort of rushed state. He seemed a little on edge as his ice blue eyes scanned the shelves where rows upon rows of candy were kept.

So many different varieties in so many different colors, tastes, and textures. But there was only one candy in the world that he needed right now. He suddenly stopped in his tracks as a wonderful scent filled the air, a scent that made him lick his lips and his stomach growl. Sure, he could always drink that disgustingly nasty potion the kind nurse at the hospital wing provided him on a daily basis but that only kept him from ripping out someone's throat and made him somehow tame. It didn't quell his hunger. And Kade craved things that weren't normal even for a wizard. And unfortunately for him, the steady supply of what he craved the most had run out. Following his nose, his feet seemed to move forward on their own as the sweet scent that enticed him grew stronger, finally leading him to what he wanted.

On the very bottom rack of one of the shelves was a full box of blood pops. Smirking as he bent down, his pale fingers dug around into the box before he pulled out a single piece of candy and quickly removed the wrapper without much effort. Then without hesitation, he stuck the blood pop in his mouth. The sweet mettalic taste of blood filled his senses and he smiled as he happily took it all in, letting out a sigh of relief as he did so. There's nothing like the taste of AB positive he thought to himself as he picked up the entire box and stood up before he proceeded toward the cashier to pay.

Finny was walking into Honeydukes when Kade was walking up to pay for the bow of blood pops. Shaking her sandy brown hair free of the snow that had started to fall on her walk over, she pulls her hands out of her pockets, and heard the small change she had jingle softly in her pocket. She wanted something sweet, but she wasn't sure what she wanted really. It was all what she was in the mood for, and she wasn't sure just exactly what she was in the mood for at all.

A glance at the counter showed her Kade's back, and she was then thrown into remember the first time she had met him. It had been through Teddy Lupin that she had met him, and it had been one hell of a party. She also played against him in Quidditch, both of them being Keepers for their respective teams. It had been right after a Quidditch game that Gryffindor had beaten Slytherin at, and they were all partying to celebrate the win. Teddy had dragged Kade with him, and Finny had practically taken him under her wing so to speak, getting him drinking a little loosened up. It had been a fun time.

Walking up behind him, she comes up beside him and hip checks him lightly. "Hey Kade, whatcha getting?" she asked, leaning on the counter looking at him.

His fingers on his free hand were digging through the pockets of his coat, blood pop in his mouth, as he tried to figure out where he had put his money. If he had left it back at school he was going to kill somebody. Okay well not really but he'd still be a little annoyed. He hated his mindset when he was like this. The animal in him always wanted to shred things, anything, if it didn't get what it wanted and right now, what it wanted most was blood to feed the never ending hunger that seemed to consume him. He could never just finish one blood pop so he had to purchase the whole box of all five hundred of them. Of course he could just request some raw prime beef from the house elves in the kitchen back at the castle but they would only look at him funny before they shoved him back out so he wouldn't be in their way anymore.

Using his tongue to move the blood pop around in his mouth, he moved his hand from his coat pocket and shoved it into the back pockets of his jeans when somebody bumped into him, making him jump and almost spill out the contents of the box he held in his hand. ""Hey Kade, whatcha getting?" He looked up to see the familiar face of Katherine Finnigan, a Gryffindor he had met at a party, and his face flushed a full red color as he quickly removed the blood pop from his mouth and held it along with the box of other blood pops behind his back. "Finny, uh...n-nothing." he stammered. Finny was one of the very few people who knew that he was a werewolf along with his best friend Teddy Lupin. Though she didn't judge him harshly for it like other people did, he still felt embarrassed when it came to his blood cravings. He thought it was a sign of weakness and he certainly didn't want to seem weak around her. "What are you doing here?" he asked, caught a little off guard by the fact that he didn't smell or hear her approach him. It was just so busy in the store today, people were loud with all the little kids running around, and the effects of his blood pop had taken over his heightened senses.

Finny felt like a million Galleons when he said her nickname. God she was so hopeless. Glancing around him, she sees the box of blood pops and smiles softly. "Well I was actually hoping fer some blood pops, but I suppose that I can settle fer something a little bit sweeter." She said with a grin at him. It was so nice to be able to relax for a change. Giving a stretch, she looks around the crowded store, wondering what she was going to get. A thoughtful expression crossed her face as she looked around the store from where she was next to Kade. There were some rather nice sugar quills in, and she certainly didn't mind getting those.....but where were those edible flowers....the sugar roses?

They were something she didn't indulge in often, and only with someone else. It was Christmas, and she was wondering what to get for all her friends too. "Really Kade, this was just me first stop of the day. I've got me some last minute Christmas shopping to do. It's going to be one awesome Christmas, but I've got nothing for me mates right now. And that's so totally wrong, that I needs to get something soon." She said, looking up at him, and found herself wondering what colour of sugar rose he would like.

His face flushed full force again as he rubbed the back of his neck. He had tried hard to hide his weaknesses but he always ended up failing miserably. "I don't mind sharing." he said as he offered her a small smile. "But if you want sweet I suggest a licorice wand or a chocolate frog?" Two things he didn't really like. Black licorice was too bitter for his tastes and the frogs were always so damned slippery to hold onto. At the mention of Christmas, a thought suddenly struck him. He had bought presents for everyone except Finny.

It wasn't like he hadn't meant to exclude her. He just didn't know what to get her. Jewelry seemed way too personal and candy didn't exactly leave a long lasting impression. Licking his lips, he decided to try and subtly ask her. "So...what do you want for Christmas?" Oh yeah that was very subtle. Smooth Kadence, real smooth. he thought as he wanted to smack himself.

Finny gave a small laugh, finally seeing the roses she was looking for. "Normally I would agree with you on that Kade, but today, I think these Sugar roses are better." She said, grabbing two of them, both red, and paying for them, plus Kade's box of Blood pops. Her face gave a soft blush when he asked her what she wanted for Christmas. She would not tell him that what she wanted for Christmas was him. It just wasn't going to do. Holding one of the roses out to him, she gives him a small smile. "What I want for Christmas? Well....umm....I'm not to sure really....And that drives me insane, cause I always know what I want." She said, dragging him out of the store.

There was a small store that held things that people could purchase as gifts near Honeydukes, and that's where she brought him to. "I guess the other question is what do you think people like yourself would want for Christmas?" She asked, with a sly little look at him. She wanted to give him something special this year, but she wasn't too sure what he would like. She knew what Vicky had gotten Teddy, but she was still a bit worried about what she was going to do this year for Christmas. Her father hadn't been replying to her letters, and it was neigh impossible to get her mother to write back too. She wondered what had happened to her parents, but shoved it aside for a while, to have a good time with Kade.

Kade stared at her blankly when she paid for his blood pops and his cheeks grew red with embarrassment. "You didn't have to do that.[/yellow]" he murmured when she handed one of the roses she had bought. Taking it from her, his fingers brushed against her's lightly and he grinned, flashing her his unusually sharp canines. "Thanks." he said graciously before he followed her out of the store.

Still trailing after her, he followed her into a sort of gift shop. He looked all around at all the small trinkets, toys, and various other items. He felt a little out of place as he gazed all around him. This store was busy too. Still holding onto his blood pops and the red sugar rose she had given him, he glanced at the Gryffindor girl who had caught him unawares when she asked him what he wanted for Christmas. Blue eyes blinked as he contemplated what he had wanted. There was nothing really that he could name so he only ran a hair though his wet messy blond hair as he smiled. "I don't want anything." he replied with a smile. "If we look around though, I might think of something." he added reassuringly.

Finny just smiled at him. "Well, consider it part of my gift then." She said, about the blood pops. And when his hand touched hers, it sent a small tingling sensation through her. It felt nice, and cause her to blush just a little more. Grinning at him as they walked around the store, she picked up a book titled: Muggle Fairy Tales by Mother Goose. "What do you think about this for Vicky Kade? I think she'd like this one.....and you know the things Teddy likes right? So could you look for something for him for me please?!" She said, before spotting another book the same as the first, and picked it up too. If Vicky liked it, there was a good chance that Tori would too, and she couldn't forget her childhood friend.

But her eyes kept looking for something for Kade. And if she could snag it without him seeing it would be just that much better for her ego. After all, it was a great thing to give something special to someone special. And this year she wanted Christmas to be perfect, a day where they could just forget about blood status, a day where they could just had a great time, with close friends and family. And maybe a new love would show up this year, and maybe not. But Finny was definitely going to make sure there was lots of mistletoe around to snag Kade under. And Heaven forbid anyone who would try to do the same thing to him.

"She does like to read." Kade smiled at her as he followed along with her, not really sure of what to do with himself. As for Teddy well, there were plenty of things he would enjoy. "I'm sure he'd be happy with a muggle music CD." Whatever that was. Kade had never really seen a CD to know what it is and his adoptive parents didn't really listen to music so they didn't have any laying around the house. He was more concerned with what Katherine wanted anyway. "He'd probably be happy with just a nice big juicy steak." he chuckled half to himself. Well that much was true, Kade enjoyed steaks almost as much Teddy did. Almost.

He looked up for a second and spotted something and his ice blue eyes widened. Across the store, were two indentical teddy bears who both carried hearts that glowed each time the other was near, binding the two of them together in an eternal friendship. That was it, the perfect gift he had been searching for. It was a cliche really to send a girl a teddy bear as a gift but he didn't really have any other options. Besides, he wasn't the greatest when it came to picking out gifts for girls he liked. Especially since he didn't know what she wanted. In any case it was better than nothing. "Um...I'll be right back." he told her before he smiled at her reassuringly.

Finny gave a slightly throaty laugh and kept walking among the aisles of stuff. Nodding at him when he said he'd be right back, she kept looking. There had to be something here for Kade. Something, something, something......AHA! Found it! Finny's eyes lit onto this item to her right, and picked it up looking it over. It was something simple, and so cute. It was a little wolf cub stuffed animal, dressed up in wizarding robes. It was kind of funny looking, but it was still the most adorable thing that she had ever seen. Finding a few more items, she takes them up to the counter, listening for Kade coming up behind her.

Paying for the items, she asks the chasier witch to wrap all the presents and tagged them for who they were to get to, putting Kades down at the bottom of the bag they handed her. She really didn't want him to see it till christmas. Pulling her sugar rose from behind her ear where she had stuck it, she bites off one of the petals, eating it, wondering if Kade was almost done.

He had picked up the bears and examined them closely, taking note that they both has soft sandy brown fur. They had black eyes that were round and large and round fuzzy ears, the hearts they held a crystal clear color till they were brought together, then they began to glow in a multitude of colors. A grins spread across Kade's handsome features as he brought the bears with him to the cashier. Once he set them down, he finally find his money in one of the pockets of his jeans and quickly paid for them. The bears were then placed into a shopping bag before the seventh year Hufflepuff picked them up and retreated to Finny's side, a sly smirk on his face. "Ready to go?" he asked, unable to contain himself. His ice blue eyes flashed with excitement and his grin never faded as he smiled down at her. She was right, Christmas was going to be great.

Finny gave another nod, while her breath was stolen away by his smiling face. Merlin he was absolutely gorgeous. Completely and absolutely gorgeous. If it wouldn't look bad, she would jump him right here, and right now in the middle of the store. But she had to contain herself. Pulling her mind back from the rather amusing...and tempting vision in her mind, she met his blue eyes with hers. Her eyes twinkled in amusement, and then spoke. "You know it. Want a drink? We can head over to the Three Broomsticks and get something to drink." She, threading her arm with his wondering what was in his bag.

"Hey what did you get Kade?" She asked, not really one for holding in her curiosity. She had to hunt up some mistletoe soon.

It was probably a good thing that Kade couldn't read minds. He'd have a panic attack if she suddenly just jumped him out of no where. It wasn't that he didn't like her or anything, he just wouldn't know how the best in him would act. There were very many times, though he would never admit it for fear of rejection in which he would die of embarrassment, that he wanted to do the same but fear of her safety always came first. "Sure you know I always love doing things with you." he replied and he felt his face burn up. Did he just say what he thought he just said? His blush didn't subside when she looped her arm in his. She was so close and smelled so good... Focus idiot! "This bag?" he asked as he held it up for her to see, glad for a change in subject. "It's your Christmas present." he smirked before he returned the bag to his side.

"Sure you know I always love doing things with you." Finny felt her heart give a hard knock and her face flushed the same color as his. He was just too cute. She slide her bag onto her arm, and hugged herself closer to his side, trying to peek into the bag. "What did you get me!?! I want to know. Come on Kade tell me!! Please?!?" She asked, looking up at him with her blue eyes trying for the puppy dog look that every said was just adorable. But she didn't like dogs, so she rather thought she'd fail at it.

They walked into the Three Broomsticks, him carrying his bag, his box of blood pops and the rose she had given him, and her hugged close to him, carrying her own bag of gifts. She didn't want the fairy tale relationship like Teddy and Vicky had, but she wanted one where they guy could laugh with her, hold her when she cried, and just loved her for her.

From afar they might've looked like boyfriend and girlfriend by the way she kept pressing closer to him and he wished that they were. But he had to keep reminding himself that they were only friends and nothing more. He didn't exactly want a fairy tale romance either but anything he could come by would be great. Teddy was lucky, he found someone who adored him even though he was a werewolf. Kade wasn't the jealous type but even he had to admit that he was a little envious of his best mate. He held the bag away from her when he caught her trying to peer into it. "Hey no peeking!" he laughed as she gave him her puppy dog face. "You're going to have to wait just like everyone else on Christmas morning." Just because she was incredibly cute it didn't mean she'd be an exception, though he did not say this out loud. " He slid his box of blood pops along with her sugar rose into the gift bag on top of the two teddy bears so she wouldn't be able to see them. He then stuck his half eaten blood pop into his mouth as they neared the Three Broomsticks and he held open the door for her. It so was so typical of him to be a gentleman and he didn't really think much of it.
